FaceSay™ adds Video Modelling and Video Self Modelling
Michael Leventhal, a special education teacher in NYC, has been a big fan of Video Modelling for many years (here's a link to his blog on Technology Integration in Special Education). He graciously agreed to help demonstrate and test FaceSay's new ability to incorporate custom, photorealistic Avatars in the games. On the left is a short video of the real Michael :-). On the right is Michael's FaceSay character. What do you think? You can tell the difference, of course, but the FaceSay character is quite realistic, yes? And it's software :-), not a video, so Michael's Avatar can do everything the characters in the FaceSay game can do. No rehearsals or special lighting, etc and highly interactive!
For Video Self Modelling, the student can also be animated. This is ideal for the "Follow the Face" game, where the student can interactively adjust his video self model to match the facial expression of the FaceSay "Leader".
The basic features are availabe in the new 1.2.1.9 version of FaceSay, and we are Beta Testing more advanced features. Your animations, of course, are private, and are stored locally on your PC rather than on the web. Please contact us if you'd like to see how your students or clients respond.
